Love can be characterized as this immense and indescribable feeling we long for. But how can we yearn for something intangible or invisible? More often than not, the thing we find ourselves pining over is not the actual love itself, but the sensation that love brings. A sensation that touches our souls by awakening something inside us that we haven’t experience before. Due to this, you will learn the true definition of what it means to be properly cherished and adored, both physically and intellectually.

When Landon Carter the protagonist of A Walk to Remember, said, “Our love is like the wind. I can’t see it, but I can feel it.” The quote is so simple, yet it holds such a deep perception of tenderness in describing an emotion we often fail to depict so precisely. Incredible, how impactful these words combine are. Words that unleash an avalanche of nostalgia in an artistic and uncomplicated way. Much like inhaling air, we might not see it, yet we can feel the air traveling through our airway and reaching the lungs.

Is Love Really Intangible?

Is love really intangible? Just because it is invisible, does it mean that it isn’t there? False! Well, if you noticed love is an expressed emotion that we carry with us, frequently shown through thoughtful actions. Love can be found in the little mundane tasks. In the kind and supportive deeds we do for others and what others do for us. Actions done with the aim to make you feel cherished and special. Proving true the theory that just because something is invisible, it doesn’t mean it is not present.

Still, some might argue the action of love make it not intangible. And they have a valid point! Upon searching the word “love” in the dictionary, you will discover that it is also identified as a verb, and not just a noun. However, keep in mind that a person’s conduct can be used as the perfect indicator to measure their true intention towards you. By allowing our actions to serve as a benchmark this is how we can demonstrate our adoration and care to someone. Saying “I love you” can only go so far, especially if the person’s behavior fails to match their words.   

Understanding the Different Meanings of “I Love You”

Hearing the phrase “I love you” from that special person can send an invigorating thrill throughout the body. An adrenaline of excitement would take over stimulating the body from head to toe like you never have experienced before. Of course, the key to all this lays in the earnest tone of voice with how the endearment is expressed and the person who says it, which it eliminates the need for further action. Individually, each letter of the three-letters word possess a power that touch something very profound located deep within. Having those words directed to you from the mouth of that special person transcends an intoxicating tingle, coating the whole body with a warmth impossible to describe. Causing one to experience a mixture of emotions ranging from immense relief, joy, happiness, bliss, and an inner peace that everything can be achieved.

Please, don’t be fooled with every “I love you” you hear. With much disappointment, I have to tell you that only a few will express “I love you” with genuine sincere. Unfortunately, some use the common three-letters phrase to their advantage, and also with malicious intent to camouflage their true intentions. As difficult as it may be, you are bound to cross paths with someone who wrongfully employs the innocent endearment with the goal to  manipulate others. Time will reveal to you the sad reality behind the actions of these individuals. Actions executed based sorely on their ulterior motives. 

Make sure to take every “I love you” with a grain of salt because you will stumble upon a wide variety. It is important to comprehend the difference in the way the words are spoken and the sentiment behind them. Anyone can say “I love you”, but not everyone can mean it!
