The issue is rooted from the fact of paying greater attention to the vicious voice, specially the one that is gear to wreck with our confidence and decision-making-process. It is a continuous battle many have to confront on the daily, even if they don’t have a clue. One think you should be aware is that it is possible to quiet your inner critic. All you have to do is be willing to do and put in the work.

Running from Fear Only Intensifies the Pain
Running from fear can only intensify tenfold the pain that is generated from uncomfortable situations. Like the immense effort you put to not thinking of white elephants. In that exact moment, the mind become hyperfocus on white elephants. Ultimately, we give power to the things we are fearful of by intentionally evading them. Dr Julie Smith wrote the powerful quote in her famous book Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before? “Every time we say no to something because of fear, we reconfirm our belief that it wasn’t safe or that we couldn’t handle it. Every time we cut something out of our lives because of fear, life shrinks a little”
Moreover, the tendency to flee from the things we are terrified of is normal, actually it is expected. Growing up, we weren’t exactly taught to stand up to our fears. Unknowingly, having a response of constantly wanting to escape can diminish our confidence. With our confidence diminish, this can regularly invalidate our abilities to problems-solving and how we view ourselves. This can result in fear controlling our actions and impacting daily living. It is not your fault that you are living with a survivor mentality, you are only a victim of your environment. How you could have learned to face your fear if you weren’t really taught that you could?

You Are Stronger Than Your Inner Critic
Once you have recognized that you can shut off the unkind and the degrading internal voice, then you gained the tools needed to be unstoppable by focusing on the person you want to become. Being unstoppable in recognizing what you’re truly capable of, all the while, not permitted fear to take reign over your life.
To achieve that you have to engage in the daily practice of not listing to the side of ourselves that makes us question every moved made. By actively ignoring the voice of fear, we can bring forth possibilities once thought to be far from reach. With practice and dedication anything can be possible only with undivided faith in ourselves.
An important component for quieting the critical inner voice is to alter the narrative of the story we have been telling ourselves. Changing the paradigm to a positive one you have to start embodying the identity of someone who is fearless and isn’t afraid of the unknown. Doing this can open the door for you to question every negative thought that crosses your mind therefore, limiting any power it has over you. Remember, you are stronger than any fear and your inner critic. Don’t you forget!
