Hi Loves
Today, I want to talk about a topic very dear to my heart, that is fitness. My love for fitness began approximately six years ago, the second year of community college. I remembered watching a Brazilian soap opera where the protagonist was working out instantly thought to myself, “aha, so that is how Brazilians get their amazing and toned bodies.” It was like an epiphany that in order to get a toned body I would have to start an exercise regimen. That is how it all began!
1: Deciding to embark on a fitness journey is one thing; another is to want to do it for yourself.
Having a hundred percent dedication plus self-motivation are necessary when it comes to embracing a more active lifestyle. Without those two components, you’re not going to succeed because you would be doing it just to partake in the fitness fad. If you follow me on Instagram (btw you should), you might already know I have Cerebral Palsy (CP), which having an exercise regimen is very crucial. It didn’t matter how much I was told to exercise, I just wouldn’t. Obviously, I knew how much I was going to benefit from it, still wouldn’t since it was a obligation more than anything. Start a fitness journey because you want to, and not because you feel pressure to do so.
2: Not going to say starting was easy because it definitely wasn’t.
Many trials and errors were along the way. There were days when I didn’t work out due to procrastination and laziness. Plain and simple! Disappointment would soon follow for getting sidetracked and not sticking to the regimen. The next day I would train for a whole hour instead of the thirty minutes to compensate for the mishap. I realized that if I continued the inconsistently, I wouldn’t be able to reach my goal motivating me to keep going. So, don’t get discouraged when missing a day or two. The important thing is you get back on track and continue to work hard for the body you want.
3: If you think a gym membership is necessary at the beginning, then you got it all wrong.
In fact, I didn’t get a gym membership well after the first year, meaning I had to be creative with the regimen. Doing the same workouts over and over can be a drag and plain boring, so to prevent it from happening I would alternate between exercises. For instance, I would choose between going up and down the stairs with five pounds ankle weights, either Kickboxing or Zumba and the stationary bike. Side note: You can find some great Zumba and Kickboxing classes on YouTube, according to your needs. Also, if you are starting don’t expect to engage in a whole hour, instead begin with 20 minutes, then build it up from there. I recommended only to workout three times a week to allow time for the body to recuperate. The important thing here is to get your body moving.
Shall we summarize the three easy steps to starting working out? Definitely should.
1. Start because you want to. Don’t do it just to be part of the fitness fad.
2. It’s okay to fail and you will do, as long as you start back up again.
3. Be creative with your regiment. Only workout for 20 minutes, 3 times a week at first.
Hope you guys found this helpful and motivated you to start a workout regimen.

Thanks! π Hope you find them useful.
Such good tips! I really like the tip about being creative and only working out for short periods of time a few days at first – itβs less overwhelming that way π

People often feel overwhelmed with working out because they think they have to work out for a prolonged amount of time when that is not the case. The important thing is starting and getting the body moving even if it is for 10 minutes.
