Stepping Into 2026 with the Lessons the Last 12 Months Taught Us

Here’s What the Last Year Taught Us as We Start 2026

I low-key still can’t wrap my head around the fact that there are only a few hours left until we welcome 2026. Like me, I’m sure many of you are asking the same question: “Where exactly did the year go?”

Where did the year actually go? Hmm. That is a good question! One, that we all find ourselves scratching our heads over meanwhile trying to figured out the right answer.  The reality is that there is not an exact and proper way to answer. Yes, 2025 came and went, but with it also came new experiences, tribulations, lessons and adventures. Even though, we have encountered the last 12 months differently, one thing is for certain and that is we are not the same person as we were at the start of the year.

You, me, and the person next to you are not the same individual as we were back in January. We might appear the same externally, but we aren’t.  Even if it seems like nothing has been changed or altered. The fact is that there does not need to be this big life-altering event to experience change or to derail the course of our life. On the contrary, a small adventure, a shift in a relationship, or having our strength tested. This can have the greatest impact in your life, often unknowingly.

At the time, it may have seemed minuscule. But, we often undermine the fact that living through something whether good or bad or big or small becomes part of our story. Due to this, our story is gradually adjusted, subconsciously. All the while, we are being prepared and guidance to become the person we are destined to be.

These experiences have the tendency to show up dressed as many things like disappointment, laughter, heartache, sorrow and joy. Each individual emotions reveal to us a different part of life that may be unbeknownst to us, gently pushing us away from our comfort zone. A comfort zone that we are all too familiar with and occasional refuse to go out of it for fear of the unknown.

As a result, life’s only option is to push us forward and out of it, whether we are ready or not. It may seem scary, but you did it and you have survived.

I’m so proud of you for making it through the last twelve months! And for not giving up when things got rough.  You did it! May the next twelve months be full of great things. And you are offer the guidance necessary for you to head to where you need to go. 2026, WE WELCOME YOU!
