The Internet Is Going Wild Over His Lack of Effort

Week 12: Sep. 26 to Oct. 3 2025

Here are my divorce papers! That would be the first thing I would say to my husband after treating myself to a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant.  If he ever dared to take me a two days old Chipotle along with dog food. Now the joke would been on him.

This is about  the TikTok video where a teacher asked her husband to bring her lunch. He showed up with a Ziploc bag of dog food along with a two days old Chipotle and other miscellaneous foods.

Sometimes I wonder if the husband did it to actually be funny or just out of laziness.  Honestly, I’m still baffled that a grown man would take the love of his life dog food. I’m not writing this out of despite because it’s a free country and everyone has the right to be in whatever relationship they want, and with whom ever they want. The point here is to bring awareness to never settle for this type of behavior.

The thing that didn’t sit right with me is how this behavior seemed normal, with many excusing the outlandish action. Maybe my standards are too high, or maybe I’m expecting too much from a partner. But to be disrespected like that and then make excuses for it, doesn’t sit right with me. Then why even have a husband? A husband who can’t be there to comfort me when I need it, even if it just to bring me  lunch at work? And then people wonder why women are opting to be single?! 

My question is, why even be married if a husband can’t be bothered to prepare or buy lunch for his wife? It’s not like he had to make a three-course meal! She only needed him to pack   and deliver her lunch; nothing more, nothing less. Sure, she could have used one of those food delivery apps to order food. But, maybe she was having a bad day and wanted to see him and be pampered with a nice lunch. Who knows?! 

For something to become normal, it needs to be of a daily occurrence. And how can bringing dog food to my wife at work be funny? It’s not funny at all! It’s pure laziness and selfish.  Marriage is a union: you are there when I need you, and I’m there when you need me. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out!

Ladies, this type of conduct might seem acceptable to some, but it is not.  For an action to be view as normal, it has to be repeated over and over again. His action may appear adequate to her or else she would not have posted the vid.  This seemed like a harmless prank in the eyes of her husband and her sister. Honestly, there wasn’t anything harmless or funny about it. Her husband could have turned it around by taking her to a nice restaurant that evening. As a way to show her how much he appreciate her. That would given them a chance to bond and laughed the incident off.

The lack of effort is what really got my skin boiling. If he couldn’t be bother to take his wife lunch, why not order her food? There are countless of food delivery apps to choose from. That would have been such a simple solution. Again, if he wanted to, he would have; and clearly he didn’t.
