I hate to break it to you, but all of the effort you put into being perfect is in vain. Perfection doesn’t exist, and it never will.

Why the Need to Be Perfect?
Why do you want to be perfect? Is it to finally feel like you belong in a society that is so used to pick apart the unfamiliar? Or is it to prove to yourself and to heal a part of yourself that once thought you weren’t enough just the way you were?

Whatever ideology led you to believe you were needed to be a certain way to be accepted is a wrong one. Of course, there’s always room for improvements as life is all about becoming better than we were yesterday. But the predicament occurs when we begin to dislike ourselves and everything that is authentic to us. Regularly, the foundation for this wrongful belief is base on the idea that the key to happiness is perfection, only to end up losing yourself in the process.
Accept Your Imperfections By Stop Chasing Perfection
Chasing perfection is not the key to living a healthy and happy life, in fact it has the opposite effect. Perfection can frequently derails you from the path you’re meant to be on, narrowing your vision. This can block much of the joy that comes from exploring outside the lines, where imperfection resides. And you know what? It’s okay if you color outside the lines, the world isn’t going to end if you do.
As humans, we are supposed to color outside the lines. And, yet we rarely do! Maybe by not conforming to the norm, we can discover something great, uncapping new opportunities and experiences.
Some might look at venturing outside the lines as a mess. Meanwhile, others may view and consider it a masterpiece. No matter how others perceive it, the thing that matters is the calmness it brings you despite the judgement of others. If it a mess, but to you it is a masterpiece, then it’s a masterpiece. Simple!
No place does it specify that in order for something to be a masterpiece it must exude perfection. In fact, today’s greatest creations were developed from things once thought to be imperfect, challenging the status quo.
Accept Your Imperfection and Strive for Authenticity
Screw being perfect! Instead, let’s strive for authenticity. Everything is better when we are authentic. And no longer engage in the act of hiding behind the falsehood of perfectionism. As the Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí once said, “Have no fear of perfection; you’ll never reach it.”
If you really come to think, nothing is perfect and neat. So then why we are so obsessed with perfection when nothing is actually perfect? There is only one person that is perfect and that is God. The rest of us are simply correct. Correct because we were created correctly, according to the mold God made us from.
The dilemma here is that by focusing on perfection, we start giving the side-eye to the things that make us unique. That is a high price to pay!
A high price to pay, since there is a major risk of you losing yourself in the process upon trying to achieve the unachievable. Not only that, but there is a high probability that one can start to resent every feature that makes you unique, gradually altering our true identity. In the end, accepting your imperfection is the best gift you could give yourself!
