What’s Holding You Back from Showing Your Quirky Side?
Let the world see the incredible person that you are. Stop hiding your light and welcome, with open arms all the little quirks that make you you.
Often, we spend our lives concealing who we are. It can be done unconsciously or subconsciously. Mainly due to the limiting belief of presuming we aren’t enough or that there’s something odd about us.

How Past Experiences and Trauma Make Us Hide Our Quirks
The cause for this can be linked to past experiences and traumas. Experiences from the past in where you were told your peculiarities were weird and too unordinary. Instantly, you began to camouflage part of yourself to accommodate yourself to a world that is too blind to the unfamiliar.
Your uniqueness is beautiful! That’s what makes you, the remarkable person that you are. And never, not even for a second doubt your magnificence. So what if your laughter is a little loud, or you have a little excess weight, or that your socks don’t match? Who cares? As long as you’re happy with yourself, all is good.
We spend so much time worrying about our surroundings that we forget to look inward. Sadly, we tend to care more about our external environment than our internal well-being. Hence why we try to appear proper by censoring our quirky personalities. What good does that do? No good at all.

All that does is to make you uncomfortable in your own skin by constantly having the urger to alter yourself. You shouldn’t change or modify your characteristics just to please everyone who walks on this earth. Also, you are not supposed to be everyone’s cup of tea, anyway.
There’s nothing wrong if you are not like by every person you come into contact with. There is a saying in Spanish, ‘Para los gusto, los colores’ which translates to ‘For the taste, the colors’. Basically, it signifies that there are many different colors available to satisfy everyone’s preferences.
God put you on this earth for a reason. Certainly, that reason isn’t for you to shrink yourself into a corner in an attempt to hide. Whether it’s apparent to you or not, you are here to enrich people’s lives with your presence.
Stop Hiding Your Quirks by Rewiring Your Brain
Clearly, it is not easy to suddenly stop cloaking your true self, as it requires mental dedication and discipline. Discipline to rewire your brain from the belief that you must be a certain way. This can be done by detaching yourself from the version you once created to survive. That version is no longer necessary as you’ve already endured what you needed to. Now it’s time to embrace who you are and make both your past and future self proud by showing up exactly as you are.
I encourage you to stop hiding yourself and start showing up for yourself. Show up exactly as you are; nothing more nothing less. If someone doesn’t like it, they can simply turn their head the other way. You are a gem, and those who truly appreciate you will see your quirk as something beautiful. We’re all a tiny bit weird in our own unique ways!
